Dear Parents/Carers
Re: Road and Student Safety
As we begin Module 2, we want to remind you of the critical importance of driving safely around the Sir Geoffrey Leigh Academy grounds. The safety of our students is of paramount importance and it takes all of our collective efforts to ensure that our children are safe as they travel to and from school, including their movement around the academy premises, car parks, and through Goals.
We have designated drop and pick up bays within the Goal’s carpark for your convenience with clear pedestrian walkways for your child to access for their own and others’ safety. Please observe the speed restrictions.
Additionally, we remind your child of their responsibilities as they travel to and from the academy, especially as the mornings and evenings can be dark. In particular, the use of mobile phones while crossing the road can cause significant danger, and we appreciate your support to reiterate this message.
By staying vigilant and mindful of these safety guidelines, we can help protect our children and ensure that they have a safe journey to and from the academy each day.
Yours faithfully
Barry Stephenson | Deputy Principal
