The Sir Geoffrey Leigh Academy Parents’ Group

The voice of parents and carers at Sir Geoffrey Leigh Academy.

Helping to achieve the very best for our children.

We are a group of interested parents and carers of students from across Sir Geoffrey Leigh Academy, who meet once a module to express our views to Academy staff and discuss general issues raised by parents.

All parents and carers are welcome to attend.

What are our aims?

  • To communicate parents’ views to Sir Geoffrey Leigh Academy’s leadership team.
  • To give you the opportunity to meet and talk with other parents and carers.
  • To enable parents to be better informed about all aspects of Sir Geoffrey Leigh Academy life.

What do we do?

Through open discussion at our meetings parents and carers can air their views on general topics related to the Academy, e.g. home learning, behaviour, uniform, clubs.

At least one member of the senior leadership team attends the meetings to update us on Academy news and to listen to our views on current issues.

In addition, members of Sir Geoffrey Leigh Academy staff with responsibilities specific to agenda items to be discussed are invited to come along and listen to our views and contribute to the discussions.

If you have specific issues relating to your own child, please contact your child’s college directly.

When do we meet?

We meet once per module at 6:30pm at Sir Geoffrey Leigh Academy.

If you’re able to come along and join us, please contact Kerry at kezzabates@yahoo.co.uk.

The dates for this academic year are TBC
