We have lots to celebrate at The Leigh Academy this summer! We are delighted with our post-16 results. Our students have shown academic flair coupled with resilience and determination, developed in part due to disrupted earlier education, and they have come out on top. Thank you to The Leigh Academy staff and parents who have offered exceptional support throughout.
Our A level and BTEC results today highlight a 3 year trend of excellent outcomes, with notably strong performances in the arts in fine art, graphic communications and photography A levels. Once again our BTEC results are above national results with stand out performances in business, health and social care and computing. Similarly, our IB results (in July) were amazing, with our students’ grades matching or exceeding the global average across our subject offer, with especially strong performances in psychology, cultural and social anthropology and global politics.
We expect two thirds of our Year 13 cohort to take up places at university this autumn, with the rest either beginning apprenticeships or employment or taking a gap year to travel. Whatever they are going on to do, we wish them well and are confident that they are ready to thrive.
