On Saturday 6th March 2026, Sir Geoffrey Leigh Academy’s Gymnastics team participated in the 2026 British Schools Gymnastics Association (BSGA) National Trio finals held at Fenton Manor, Stoke-on-Trent.
Four exceptionally talented teams from Sir Geoffrey Leigh Academy qualified for the national finals to compete against the best school gymnastic teams in the country who had progressed to the finals through regional events.
The competition consisted of vaults, individual floor routines and a group routine where the teams showcased their exceptional talent, skill and discipline to achieve some outstanding results; The U13 Boys placed 3rd, the U16 Boys placed 4th, the U16 Mixed team placed 11th and the U19 Boys team triumphantly secured 1st place. This victory marks the first national gymnastics title for Sir Geoffrey Leigh Academy. The success of these young athletes is even more impressive as the team- made up of Felix, Freddie, Adrian, and Harrison- are Year 9 and 10 students competing in the Under 19 category.
