RE: Year 9 Options event – Curie and Mandela colleges

Following the letter you received in January, I can now confirm that the GCSE options evening for students, parents, and carers will take place on Wednesday 25th February.

The evening will consist of a presentation on the GCSE options process, including an explanation of how subject choices are decided, followed by an opportunity to visit every GCSE subject stand in a ‘marketplace’ style set up on the academy ground floor.

There will be 2 presentations in the evening and the presentation for students and parents/carers in Curie College and Mandela College at 5:45pm. Please arrive from 5:30pm where you will need to sign in before the
presentation in the Lecture Theatre. We will be providing details on the subjects that we deliver at Key Stage 4, and further information on this will be given during the presentation.

We look forward to supporting you through this critical time for you and your child, and the college leadership team, along with your child’s tutor who will always be available to answer your questions at any time through the GCSE option process.

Please complete the attached form confirming you can attend the GCSE options event at 5:45pm on Wednesday 25th February and return the signed slip to your child’s form tutor.
