Dear Parents and Carers of Students in Years 7 to 11

RE: Christmas Jumper day and Christmas Lunch – Wednesday 17th December 2025

We are pleased to announce that your child will have the opportunity to enjoy a Christmas Lunch on Wednesday 17th December 2025. The Christmas Lunch will feature a delicious festive meal and entertainment in the restaurant. Additionally, our assemblies and tutor time curriculum will include activities that will bring our school community together in the spirit of caring, sharing and giving at this time of year.

We are pleased to be supporting the Save the Children charity as part of this occasion and raise awareness and funds that support children in need around the world. As an IB World School, we are proud of our students’ efforts to help support both global charity work as well as valued local community initiatives. During this event, your child may wear a hand decorated or store bought Christmas jumper and/or Christmas themed accessories, in addition to their usual academy uniform. Please note that the only adjustment to our uniform on this day is to wear a Chrsimas themed jumper.

We kindly ask for a voluntary minimum donation of £1 per student to contribute to this cause and this must be paid through our SGLA Save the Children Giving Page ahead of the day. All funds raised will go directly towards providing food, education, and emergency relief for children facing hardship through the Save the Children Charity. Each college will select their favourite Christmas jumper design and present the winning student with a prize.

Please donate to our Save the Children page via this link . Every penny counts!

On this day, Christmas dinner will be the only option served in the restaurant at Lunchtime at a cost of £4.05 for a full meal, or £2.50 without dessert. Alternatives will be on offer from the Snack Shack, and/or food can be purchased from the restaurant at breaktime. Students can also bring in a packed lunch. Please ensure your child has enough money on their account ahead of the day. Students entitled to free school meals will be provided with the opportunity to have Christmas lunch or alternatives from the Snack Shack.

Yours Faithfully
