Sir Geoffrey Leigh Academy students celebrate with their excellent Post 16 results

Sir Geoffrey Leigh Academy Post-16 Results

We are delighted with our Post-16 results for 2025. Our students have shown resilience and determination throughout their education to date; and they have come out on top. Thank you to the Sir Geoffrey Leigh Academy staff, parents and carers who have offered exceptional support to our young people throughout their journey.

Our A Level and BTEC results today, when coupled with our International Baccalaureate Higher Level results from July, highlight a three year trend of excellent outcomes for our students. There are notably strong performances in Fine Art and Graphics with stand out performances in Applied Science BTEC, Health and Social BTEC and Sport BTEC. Similarly, our IB results (in July) were exceptional, with our students’ grades exceeding the global average with especially strong performances in Geography , English Language and Literature, Psychology, Cultural and Social Anthropology, Global Politics, and Business.

We anticipate 80% of our Year 13 cohort to take up places at university this autumn, with the rest either beginning apprenticeships, employment, or taking a gap year to travel. We wish them well and are confident that they are ready to thrive.
