Dear Parents and Carers,
Re: Medical Passes from Module 1 – 2025/26
You may recall my letter emailed to you in Module 4, informing you of the changes to Sir Geoffrey Leigh Academy’s approach to exit passes. I include the full letter reminder in this link for your reference.
As we come to the end of this academic year, we are collating new evidence, where appropriate, to update our evidence base for an exit pass, which from September 2025, will become known as a ‘Medical Pass’. This will incorporate medical recommendations for toilet breaks, time out, and other medical issues. Medical Passes will be tagged to a student on our information system where staff will be fully aware of this bespoke need.
The academy will remove all current timeout privileges from students who do not have long-term medical evidence which justifies the need for a medical pass after the end of term, July 2025. This will allow you enough time to obtain up to date evidence over the summer break so your child can be allocated a renewed Medical Pass from the beginning of Module 1.
Students will be reminded of this during tutor time and assembly during this week so together you can seek the appropriate medical evidence for your child’s Medical Pass to be issued upon their return to the academy in September 2025.
Yours faithfully,
Mr Stephenson | Deputy Principal
