Dear Parents/ Carers,
R.e.: Year 9 Community Project Year 7 Disco
As part of our studies at Sir Geoffrey Leigh Academy in Year 9, we take part in the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme, Community Project.
For the MYP Project, our group of Year 9 students are hosting a Spring disco on Thursday 8th May for Year 7 students. The disco will take place in the school restaurant from 4 pm to 6pm.
Students can choose whether they want to bring their own clothes or stay in school uniform. Changing facilities will be available in the PE changing rooms.
After school, students attending the disco will make their way to the Lecture Theatre to wait and then be allowed to change in the PE changing rooms – before making their way into the restaurant for an afternoon of fun and games. All areas being used by Year 7 students will be fully supported by SGLA members of staff.
This disco will be packed with games, activities and music. It will have a Spring theme and will be an amazing place to make new friends. Sweets and snacks will be available to buy from another Year 9 Community Project team during the disco; drinks will also be available. All the money raised from tickets will be donated to Social Anxiety Alliance UK.
Tickets for the disco are £1, which can be paid on Parent Pay. Please also remember to confirm your child is either being picked up or returning home alone, through Parent Pay.
Yours faithfully
Lisa Bodle | Assistant Head of College for Shakespeare College
