Dear Parents and Carers of Year 7
RE: Year 7 Information Evening and Chromebook Collection – Wednesday 10th September
I am delighted to report that our Year 7 students have made an excellent start to life at Sir Geoffrey Leigh Academy. To further support their transition to secondary school, and to continue building a strong partnership with you, we are pleased to invite you to our Year 7 Information Evening on Wednesday 10th September.
This evening is designed to:
- Give you an overview of your child’s academy experience and curriculum.
- Introduce you to the key staff supporting your child, including senior college staff, your child’s Tutor, and the wider pastoral team.
- Explain the prestigious International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) that your child will follow during Key Stage 3.
- Provide an opportunity to collect your child’s Chromebook, offered through the LAT device scheme (please bring photo ID to collect the device).
Schedule for the evening:
- Mandela College & Curie College – Arrive for 4:15pm presentation in the Lecture Theatre, followed by time with your child’s college team and Chromebook collection. Estimated finish: 5:45pm.
- Shakespeare College & Seacole College – Arrive for 5pm presentation in the Lecture Theatre, followed by time with your child’s college team and Chromebook collection. Estimated finish: 6:30pm.
Your child may attend with you and must be in full academy uniform. Please enter via Main Reception, where you will be directed to your starting point for the evening. Please reply through this Google Form by Monday 8th September to confirm whether you will be attending.
